Incidents of Listening by C.C. King

January 8, 2003 at Middlesex School, Concord, Massachusetts

This exhibit incorporates many tree branches. I'm drawn to them as a material because of their "already-there-ness". Branches already posess a beauty, a deft draftsmanship and sense of line. My hope is to bring this into focus and to be receptive to that which wants to come through, to listen in the fullest sense of the word. Thus the title, Incidents of Listening. -- at the Cornelius Ayer Wood Gallery, Middlesex School
